France comes to Santa Barbara! Outdoor vendors and sidewalk cafes. Tables with umbrellas and checkered tablecloths. Fresh baked french breads and pastries. Classic and nouvelle cuisine and regional specialties. Crepes, onion soup, quiche, pates, sausage, escargots, Cajun and French Moroccan food, salads and cheeses. Beer, wine, sparking Champagne. Orangina, Perrier, and frothy cafe au lait. Chef Michel Richard says it's like going to France without paying for it.

Over 20,000 happy people are French for the weekend. Outdoors under the sun in Santa Barbara's beautiful Oak Park.

Continuous Free Entertainment: Over 40 Acts on Three Stages!
Raucous cancan. Folk music and dancing. Classical recitals. Accordion players. Tributes to Edith Piaf and Maurice Chevalier. Moroccan belly dancing. Grand opera. Cajun bands. Jazz. Tango. Classical recitals. Roving jugglers, mimes and troubadours. A complete schedule with performance times will be distributed at the Festival.
Arts and Crafts; Books and CDs
Impressionist painters at their easels, reminiscent of Montmartre or Provence. Handcrafted jewelry. Berets. French books, tapes and videos.
Eiffel Tower!
A huge, specially commissioned Eiffel Tower is the focal-point of the Fete.
Statue of Liberty
A giant replica of Bertholdi's famous sculpture (a gift from the people of France to the people of the United States). Sponsored by Spirit of '76 Santa Barbara.
French Art Show
Watercolor paintings of Provence and Paris by Steve Hoegerman, Director of the French Festival and leader of Journeys to Hidden Provence, will be on display the month of July.
For the Kids
